Who am I?
Has this crossed your mind recently? If it did, what was your response? Was your response positive or negative?
Are you genuine? Are you authentic? What are your values? What do you stand for? Are you ready to walk alone for what you believe in?
Are you doing something because others are doing it or because it is the right thing to do?
The year is coming to an end, and it is time for self-reflection. What have you done wrong this year that you need to make right? Don't beat yourself up about it. We all make mistakes, and life is about so many bumps along the way.
We must keep getting up and doing the right thing. Just because someone is doing it in a certain way does not make it right.
If your values match what you do and what you act on, then you are on the right track.
Self-awareness is the conscious knowledge of one’ s character, motives, desires and feelings. It is crucial to helping us do a reexamination of ourselves and see where we are struggling and where we may need support. It can be a painful process but you will be glad you did.
It is time to awaken the giant in you. You were born for a time like this. Get up and just do it!!!
One of the best things I have learned this year is one of the Stoic principles that says, “You leave and accept what you cannot control." I have always known this, but it came through in a different way this time, and I had this inner peace.
It is alright to say I cannot do this if it is beyond your capabilities. You have to know your limitations. You only have control over yourself and nobody else.
Anything that will make you cross that line is not worth it because it will take your peace with it.
Pause and look within. Be true to yourself and note the things that need changing for a better you in the new year.
Do not forget to reach out for help if the person you see is not who you want to be. We can aspire to be better and make an impact on the world in our own little way. It starts with a decision. You can, and you will. Stay focused, and do not allow yourself to be distracted.
So what are you willing to change in the new year? What do you need to achieve it? Who do you need to see or call to support you in achieving your goals of being a better person?
Write those goals down. You will be amazed at how far you have come.
