It is the season to set goals.....that we may or may not abandon before the end of February. It's always fascinating seeing humans celebrate certain things, especially things such as the new year. When you look at it literally, it's just another beginning of a new calendar year, why the cause for celebration? But that's exactly what makes us superior, our ability to feel and experience complex things. We change significantly and go through so many emotions in a year, and sometimes even all at once, that the promise of a new year brings with it some form of hope. Hope that we accomplish more things, hope that we experience something new, and more importantly, hope that we can start again.

This is why we create vision boards and prep for gym routines, because the thrill of the new year motivates us to start on a clean slate.

If your excitement towards the new year withered away somewhere down the line, it's okay. You must not wait till the stroke of 12 to start afresh. You can command power to do anything right from within yourself. The earth is going to keep revolving and for as long as you live, you will always have opportunities to do anything you set your mind to. So don't feel intimidated by all the goals you see around you, and remember that like snowflakes, every individual is different. It's possible to be completely dormant for the first half of the year, and be an absolute wonder in the second.

So as we are about to start a new year, give yourself the most grace. Celebrate yourself for coming this far. Don't despise all the seemingly little efforts you've put in up to this point- they're all a culmination of your strength and resilience. It's never too late to pick yourself up and try again. So as soon as the thought comes, act on it. Don't shove it in your notes somewhere, do it! Every new day is a new chance, and you must be brave enough to take it. You alone can determine when your new year begins. Have a very happy new year!
